  1. Mormon/LDS IS Christian. It's very offensive and common to say otherwise.

    1. It depends on what definition your give to the word Christian. For some people Mormons, Catholics, Jehovah Witnesses and all forms of protestants are Christians. To further define the term Christian, add Born-again in front of it. So what is a Born-again Christian? It is a person who has believed that Jesus came to Earth, that Jesus is God, that Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins and that Jesus rose from the dead. Then that person accepts God's free gift of forgiveness. It isn't about anything that we do, we don't earn salvation at all, there is no way we can be good enough to some how earn it. Salvation is a free gift from God, all we do is receive it. That is what a Born-again Christian is as defined by the Word of God, not the book of Mormon.

    3. Yes they are because I'm a Mormon. You shouldn't be saying rude things about Mormons when you haven't experienced being a Mormon. I'm a Mormon, I know it, I live it, I love it!!!! :)

    4. People saying that Mormons are not Christians are just ignorant, not necessarily rude. The Mormon church's official name is the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints. I've taken many many religion classes at my university and I was surprised at first but their church is very Christ centered

Funny how you can say that Catholics or Presbyterians or Lutherans or Baptists or Seventh-Day Adventists are CHRISTians, but not all CHRISTians are Catholics, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Baptists of Seventh-Day Adventists...huh. Not really that many differences when you truly look at the big picture. We are ALL CHRISTians. We are all Children of our Heavenly Father.

    1. Mormon is a nickname, the real name of the church is THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS. Latter Day Saints, believe in the church as established anciently by the Savior. The church believes in modern day revelation. That would be the difference between them & other Christian churches who believe revelation/communication with God ceased when the original apostles died. It's not a cult at all. According to stats they do more charity work, are happy, have less divorces, live longer, & know more about all religions, than anyone other group. But if you've never read from the Book of Mormon you are not entitled to talk about what a religion does.

    2. Mormonism is not a "cult". They don't brainwash you, they have never taught anything that is heretical to Christiandom. Did you know, that Jesus Christ did not put people down because of their faiths? He loves everyone. When he was on this earth, He thought the same things that the LDS church teaches. There are a lot of religions out there that are considered "Christian" but have decided to only teach what benefits themselves, especially financially. There are so many so called "Christian" churches out there that have strayed so far from the the Savior taught us in the Scriptures. The Book of Mormon only reiterates the things the Bible says. Do you honestly think that a young man, who never passed the 3rd grade could write the Book of Mormon? Honestly, that was Spiritually guided. Start acting like Christians, because that's what it means to be a Christian. Someone who follows Christ, His teachings, and strives to be like Him.

    3. There are really no difference except for the holy scripture they use. So in other words christains are mormons and mormons are christians. THE END!!!

  4. Trust me Mormon's are Christians. They fully believe that Jesus Christ died for their sins, was the son of God, and follow his teachings. As far as I can tell that pretty much defines Christian. However, unless many other Christian denominations they believe that after Jesus ascended into heaven, he visited North America to visit those who lived their at the time (which were descendants of the Israelite). For me the whole thing's a stretch, because I don't believe in God anyway, and I tend to perceive any entity that suggests blind faith over reason (most religions), to be a cult. Not that all cults are bad, just that most things are cults.

    2. Actually if you would take some religion courses you would learn many religions believe Lucifer (Satan) is the brother of Christ. Mormons also don't believe any of those things about black people. Please educate yourself.

  6. Mormonism is NOT Christianity, at least not true Mormonism. I AM offended by people thinking they are the same. At it's core Mormonism is a polytheistic religion, the belief in many possible gods. Mormonism adds to the Bible, hence their "Book of Mormon". They hold this book as being just as divine as the Bible, they also do not believe in the Trinity. These things are crucial to true Christianity. The Bible strictly says that those who ADD or TAKEAWAY from scripture will be damned. Please get your fact straight. Mormons are NOT Christians, in saying this you are offend me and my God, something of which I will not stand for.

    2. Jesus extended the invitation to be his follower, saying: “If anyone wants to come after me, let him disown himself and pick up his torture stake and continually follow me.” (Mt 16:24) Those who are true Christians have full faith that Jesus Christ is God’s specially Anointed One and only-begotten Son, the Promised Seed who sacrificed his human life as a ransom, was resurrected and exalted to the right hand of Jehovah, and received authority to subdue his enemies and vindicate Jehovah’s name. (Mt 20:28; Lu 24:46; Joh 3:16; Ga 3:16; Php 2:9-11; Heb 10:12, 13) Christians view the Bible as the inspired Word of God, absolute truth, beneficial for teaching and disciplining mankind.—Joh 17:17; 2Ti 3:16; 2Pe 1:21.

Ok? Good. A Christian is one who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. Mormons follow Jesus Christ. Correct. If you are confusing Christianity and Catholicism, here's a hint, they aren't the same thing.

  13. The Difference between Christian and Mormons is Christians only believe in the Holy Bible. While Mormons believe in Both H.B and the Book of Mormon. The Main difference is Christians Believe in Jesus Christ Only, and believe that they can be saved Without Action( Bible once Said :Because by grace you have salvation through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is given by God,Not by works, so that no man may take glory to himself. Ephesians 2:8-9)(I am a Christian:) While the Mormons believe Jesus Christ yet also other gods. They also believe that they need to be good for the entire life to get to the heaven.

Which is A.K.A. The Godhead.

And yes, The Shaytards are Mormon. The joke video they posted, was just that, a JOKE! I know they're Mormon because of the Christmas special when the kids were holding up the pictures of Christ which are the LDS versions. :)

Hello! Okay I have an answer your question about defining Christianity or whatever! The scripture is Galatians 2:20. The verse talks about how Christ lives in us. Our identity is in Christ, and since our identity is in Christ, he defines who we are, Christ defines Christianity.

    @Jeffree
No. There were NOT other books written into the Bible, now there are accounts that people at te time of Christ wrote and saved, but those were not appointed books by God to use in the Bible, if God wanted them there, they'd be there. It also DOES add at the end of Revalations that of anyone adds or takes away from the Bible, then it's it not very good for them. I'm not Mormon, but it seems to me that the Book of Mormon is like a 2nd Bible to you guys, that right there contradicts the Bible in many places- if it contradicts the Bible- the word of God- of God himself, than wouldn't that kind of be the opposite of God?

So I'm not trying to pick a fight- I just wanted you to know that. Try studying the Bible and Jesus. Haha I guarantee that the more you look into it, the more you see things you never saw before :] God bless you and your family!

  24. Mormon/LDS are Christians.....

We believe in God, Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own cconscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

    1. According to my friends, who are Mormons, you also believe that Jesus and Satan were brothers, that "As man is, God once was; as God is, man may become." meaning that God was once a man on another planet, and attained godhood. The Bible says "There is no God Beside Me" - Isaiah 44:6. Attaining godhood is a false teaching that began at the garden of Eden with the Devil saying, "you will be like God." The teachings of the Mormon church tell of a false Jesus and therefore a false Christ. The Mormon Church also claim that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are completely separate gods. That there is a mother goddess, that is not at all proclaimed in the Bible.

Please be open to the truth, because if you didn't already know about these teachings, they will tell you when they (your Mormon teachers) think you're ready. They slap the name of Christ onto something that is most definitely anti-Christ. Repent and put your trust in the true Jesus Christ who can save, not the Jesus of Mormonism. Please, there is just punishment for those who turn there eyes away from the truth of Jesus Christ. Search just the Bible and you will see the truth. May God guide you if you decide to search for Him with a pure heart.

    2. You have been misinformed my friend. I have a masters degree in world religions and I studied Mormonism a lot. Mormons believe that all people's spirits are brother and sister, and God is the father. All the evil spirits, including Satan, were once included in this family in their heaven. They were cast out once God discovered their true intentions. So not only is Satan Christ's brother, but we are all Christ's siblings. I don't think that is so unreasonable a belief. I'm sure you haven't even read this far so I won't waste my time explaining the concept of Mormons becoming like God. I think you really should learn more about the Mormon church from an unbiased source before you start making accusations. Maybe from a good college course or from you reading their text, like The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Reading the book won't damn you, it will just make you aware of their religion and that will lead to being more welcoming of all people. That was definitely the best thing I got out of college, I have a high understanding and tolerance for everyone and it's lovely to be able to be friends with anyone and have no debates with people about their beliefs.

  36. Certainly, given the name of the Church, its doctrines and practices, and the fact that we look to Jesus as our Savior and Redeemer and attempt to follow His teachings would qualify us as Christian. We are not, however, TRADITIONAL Christian because we are neither Catholic nor Protestant.

Catholics claim that Christ’s Church continued down through the ages and still exists in the form of the Roman Catholic Church. Protestant Churches originated in the middle ages (1500 – 1600′s) by those who felt the original church organized by Christ had been vastly altered and even lost and their protests (thus the name Protestant) were efforts to reform the Church and the movement was thus known as the Reformation.

We claim that Christ’s true church was lost from the earth following the death of all of the apostles and prophets except John who was banished to the Isle of Patmos. Note that apostles and prophets were the “foundation of the Church” (see Ephesians 2:19-20). We quote passages announcing that Christ would not return to the earth except there was a “falling away first” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-5) and “…until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began”. (Acts 3:19-21). You can probably see where I am headed with this and that is that our claim is that the Church which Jesus organized during his earthly ministry was lost and is now restored in these latter days. (Members of the Church anciently were called saints.)

You can see how we may not be considered TRADITIONAL CHRISTIAN and why the other churches my be inclined to resent us.
